Powering Friend Studio’s environmental impact reduction

As a tight team of corporate communications specialists with a company culture of supporting social & charitable initiatives, Friend Studio was looking to build an Environmental Policy that demonstrated their commitment to the planet to their team and to their clients. Friend needed support understanding where their impacts lay and outlining objectives, timelines and actions to address these impacts. Beyond policy creation Friend needed assistance in implementing initiatives and ensuring objectives were being met.

Natural Distinction worked with Friend Studio to:

• Assess environmental impacts across the firm through and report these formally to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop relationships with staff to understand how Friend could make effective changes that would be welcomed and championed by the team.
• Understand the brand & culture to ensure initiatives could be communicated effectively internally and to clients.
• Implement changes that reduce Friend’s impact on the planet.
• Collaborate with Friend on an ongoing basis to develop their environmental commitment into a fully rounded ESG commitment.
• Assess annually to track progress against objectives.

• Friend has a purpose-built environmental policy, demonstrated to clients the real steps they are taking to reduce their impact.
• Friend now use World Land Trust Carbon Balanced Paper as standard on all client print jobs.
• Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions have been calculated.
• They work with local environmental and social partners to give back to the community.
• Friend has an in-house Sustainability Team, known as the Greenhounds to match company branding, that implement positive change.
